We've been gone from the road for a long time, but TBA hasn't stopped the rock. M has started to learn a new instrument, the Pro Keyboard. I've stuck to the guitar but can play some infrequent orange notes now. Our library of songs has grown to approximately 2000 that we can play and we decided it was time to hit the road once more.
We started out on the Subway route playing local gigs. Here's how those worked out:
Hometown Throwdown:
Basement Show, 18 W. 7th Street:
I Love Rock N' Roll ***** @@@@@
Last Dance **** @@@@@
Total 19 @ earned
Weeknight Show, Cranky Bill's Dive Bar:
Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Pt.1 ***** @@@@
Oye Mi Amor **** @@@@@
Total 18 @ earned
All-Ages Matinee, Vexx Nightclub:
Werewolves of London ***** @@@@@
Heart of Glass **** @@@@@
After Heart of Glass, our lead singer poured a gallon milk jug out into the crowd while we proceeded to smash our instruments.
We got enough stars and spades from the Hometown Throwdown to get a gold medal and became regional tourers from it. We also won a van!
Off the Beaten Path:
La Pesadilla Mexican Restaurant:
Just Like Heaven ***** @@@@
Low Rider **** @@@@
Bowling Alley:
Everybody Wants to Rule the World **** @@@@@
Don't Stand So Close To Me ***** @@@@@
Fun Street Arcade:
Space Oddity ***** @@@@@
Walking On the Sun ***** @@@@@
Tattoo Andy's Skate Loft:
Whip It ***** @@@@@
Heart of Glass **** @@@
Just Like Heaven **** @@@@@
We got enough stars and spades from the Off the Beaten Path to get a gold medal and become an Opening Act!
We've completed the Subway Road Challenges.
